Three Sites Review
Using a walkthrough, this report provides a comparison between the three A&E departments in Manchester for people with urgent mental health needs.
Recommendations:
- Further investigation is required into the factors identified by the walkthrough.
- User involvement in service and pathway design needs to involve local people familiar with the service and pathway.
- Opportunity for shared learning between staff on each site needs to be made available.
- This needs to occur within the timeframe of the Single Hospital Service.
- Healthwatch Manchester, as the independent consumer champion for health and social care needs to either lead or be involved in the above.
